GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO EAT

Monday of the Eighteenth Week in Ordinary Time: Year C Matthew 14:13-21 The small offering of food fed the crowd. This is a miracle of generosity. “Give them some food yourselves.” Friends, we can meet the needs of the hungry people around by sharing with them what they had among them. Our compassion to the needy must be shown through our acts of mercy. Compassion without action is like body without a soul. Today’s gospel is reminding us that where there is love there is always a miracle. Folks, if you want to see a miracle, BE THE MIRACLE. We have a God who always provides more than what we need. God always satiates and satisfies us. Folks, God will not be outdone in His generosity. He is always trying to give the best to us but sometimes our hands are too full to receive them. By the way, we do not have to be rich to be generous. No one has ever become poor by giving. Be altruistic. Stop being egoistic! When theres a needy person before you never send them away. The poor are not leftovers. Welcome them with the joy of mercy and compassion. Entertain them with love and care. Give them something to eat says the Lord. Blessings Fr. Jhack

THE DANGER OF GREED

Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C Luke 12:13-21 Jesus in today’s gospel warns us to guard against all greed. “Avoid greed in all its forms. A man may be wealthy, but his possessions do not guarantee him life.” The parable of the rich fool illustrates how fleeting the possession of material riches can be. Folks, our goal should be to make ourselves rich with the things which God considers to be riches. Nowadays, we are enticed on every front to crave more wealth, more possessions and higher status, but today Jesus reminds us that when we die, our wealth, our possessions, and our status will not matter. Jesus warns us against all forms of greed because it takes us away from God and away from serving and loving Him in other people. Friends, life is not made secure by what we own. Choose to want less rather than to have more for all things are vanity. The most dangerous thing is to want more. Happiness come from spiritual wealth not material wealth. If your happiness depends on money, you never be happy with yourself. Therefore seek not material wealth but seek the Lord who owns it all. Lets be rich towards God. Why? Because we all go to eternity empty-handed and anything that we have acquired will only go to our heirs. Conclusion: 1. All are meaningless 2. Seek the things that are above. 3. Recognize the source of your prosperity Blessings Fr. Jhack

TELL THE TRUTH

Saturday of the Seventeenth week in Ordinary Time: Year C Matthew 14:1-12 Facing with truth and death which side will you be in? Are you ready and willing to die for the sake of truth? Or will you continue to live and covering up the truth? Nowadays, when you tell the truth you may loose your friends. Folks, let us shame the devil by exposing the truth. Telling someone the truth is a splendid act. Like John the Baptist let us be a messenger and lover of truth. What kind of truth? Truth about morality. John the Baptist upholds the dignity of marriage and condemning the adulterous relationship of Herod and Herodias. He was beheaded because of that. So like John the Baptist let us not be aftraid to speak out the truth even if it endangers our lives. People may hate you as a whistle blower but never mind because what matter most is living in truth. Friends, never tolerate any mistakes of people close to us especially if it concerns morality. Live in truth and be a lover of truth. Death can never silence the truth. Conclusion: Better to be get hurt by the truth than comforted with a lie. Friends, I repeat what I told you before: “telling the truth and making someone cry is better than telling a lie and making someone smile.” Blessings Fr. Jhack

BETHANY EXPERIENCE

Feast of St. Martha Friday of Seventeenth Week in Ordinary Time Year C John 11:19-27 Today as we commemorate the feast day of St. Martha let us reflect on the significance of Martha’s faith in the resurrection. Friends, faith in the resurrection helps us to live with an attitude of hope. “I am the resurrection and the life; anyone who believes in me, even if they die, will live! And anyone who lives and believes in me will never die!” Martha’s faith in the ressurection gives us meaning, direction and the opportunity to start over no matter what the circumstances. What define us is how well we rise after falling. Today rise up and become the person you were meant to be. You have the power within you to rise above whatever is currently seeking to bring you down. Within you is the power to rise above any situation and transform into the brightest version of you. Folks, we have a God who freed us from the tomb of death. He wills life not death. Rise up and pray. “Lord, I have come to know and believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God.” Blessings Fr.
