BELIEVE IN THE BREAD OF LIFE

Thursday of the Third Week of Easter Year C John 6:44-51 In most birthday party I attended, invited visitors would often wish and pray for a longer life to the birthday celebrator. In today’s gospel what caught my attention is the words uttered by Jesus saying: “…he who believes has eternal life.” Yes, believing in Jesus will give us not only longevity but eternity. If we like to have quality and fantastic life believing in Jesus is the password. Friends, believe in the Eucharist, even though we don’t understand how His Body can become our life-giving food. The Eucharist is the gift of God for us to experience not only longevity but quality life. Let us spent well our earthly journey by receiving Jesus as food to nourish our soul. Today if we desire to live in eternity, I have three fraternal suggestions: first, believe in Jesus. Second, believe in Jesus. Third, believe in Jesus. “I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world.” Friends, we live only once. If we live right, once is enough. The rewards of eternal life requires an effort. Have faith, believe that beyond what is corporeal, beyond time and beyond measure there is called an eternity promised by Jesus to those who believe in Him- the bread of life. Faith is what makes our life last for eternity. Let us be conscious of eternal life. May God bless us with eternal life. Amen Blessings Fr. Jhack

JESUS IS ENOUGH

Wednesday within the Third week of Easter Year C John 6:35-40 “Whoever comes to me will never be hungry and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” In our own life we crave for more. We have a burning desire for more. Our lives hunger and thirst for satisfaction. Today’s gospel is the answer to fill the void within us. Jesus is our satisfaction. If we receive Him our hunger and thirst will be gone. He will indulge the deepest desire of our soul. We are invited today to receive Jesus in the Eucharist. Believe and you will live. Friends, go beyond the earthly existence by accepting the offer of Jesus. He offers himself as spiritual food which sustains and brings out the the very life of God within us. He is the bread of life. No other bread can fill the vacuum in us. No other bread can void our feelings of emptiness. No other bread that can satisfy us, only Jesus. Christ is enough. Jesus is the bread that never perishes. He is that food that never spoils or runs out. When we put our faith in Him we will be raised on the last day. Friends, taste and see the goodness of the Lord. JESUS IS THE HUMAN FACE OF GOD

Feast day of Sts. Philip and James Tuesday of the Third week of Easter Year C Jhn 14:6-14 Today is the feast day of the two great apostles St. Philip and James. The gospel for today assured these two brothers the sure path and the way that leads to certainty. Like these disciples we are also reminded who Jesus is. He is “the way, the truth and the life” and the indispensable way to the Father. Friends, if we follow Jesus and abide in Him we will never go astray. We will never be lost. We will always reach the source of wisdom and set foot on heaven. And most of all we will never die because He assured us of life eternal. Jesus is the perfect face of God. He is the revealation of the Father “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.” Jesus is the way but we follow the path of sin. Sin is our problem. It alienates us from the joy of paradise. We are totally ruined by sin, condemned and completely depraved of heaven. Sin is a wrong GPS. Jesus is the truth but we are confused by the realities of this world. He is the gospel truth but most of the times we enterain some fake news that baffle and mislead us. Friends, if you believe in Jesus throw all your amulets and different form of prosperity charms displayed at your homes. Replace it with the cross of Christ. Dispose all the symbols of lucky charms and emblems exhibits at your home and cars that you thought can give protection against evil. Only Jesus can do it. Jesus is the life but we turn to some wrong sources and entity. We sustain our soul with food that spoils. We reinforce our spirits with vices and addictions. Friends, feed yourself with the Eucharist. Jesus is the Bread of Life. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. Blessings Fr. Jhack

WORK FOR FOOD THAT DO ES NOT SPOIL

Monday of the Third Week of Easter John 6:22-29 “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves.” In todays gospel reading, the crowds keep following Jesus, not because they understood the significance of the multiplication of bread and fishes, but because they are hungry again. They are chasing Jesus for a wrong reason. It’s sad to say but the reason behind why they keep on following Him is not Jesus himself but their desire for the food. Their looking for food not Jesus. Today, the gospel is reminding us one reality of life. (This might not be true and applicable to some) Some people forget about you, until they want something from you. There will be instances in our life that people will only remember you, when they need you. You only exist when they need something. There will be friends of yours who will come to you when they need you but throw you aside when they’re fine. In short, they will ignore you until they need you. Some of our friends are like shadows. They follow you in the sun but leave you in the dark. Folks, if this will happen to you don’t feel bad; instead be privilege to be like a candle that comes to their mind when there is darkness. Let us be grateful as the source of blessings and abundance during their moments of scarcity. Let us strive for higher realities and desire more for things that truly counts. Work for what is essential and eternal. Don’t chase Jesus for wrong reasons. Folks, do not work for food that will spoil. Faith in Jesus is beyond food and enjoyments. Let us chase Jesus not because we can avail free meals but because we believe that He is the one who can give full sustenance to our spirit. He is our ultimate satisfaction. Follow Jesus not because of earthly satisfaction but because of salvation. Blessings Fr. Jhack

TRY AGAIN

Third Sunday of Easter John 21:1-19 When Jesus died some of his disciples went back to their old ways of living that is fishing again. However, after a long break they caught nothing. Despite having tried their best, they caught nothing that night. Perhaps they tried everything that whole night but still not even one single fish were strayed in their net. Failure! It was a frustrated night. I think we can sympathize with these disciples because there are moments in our life that we tried so hard but we too failed. There are times in our life that we do our best to fix family issues but we too failed. Perhaps some of us were discouraged and because of all these failures were tempted to stop. We tried to change our bad habits but we ended up doing the same addictions. Hey, my friends the gospel for today is telling us this message: TRY AGAIN. TRY ONE MORE TIME: “Cast the net over to the right side of the boat and you will find something.” Friends, let me tell you this: your dreams does not have expiration date. You have to push beyond every limitation to achieve your dreams. TRY AGAIN. Give yourself another chance. If we ask the Lord and we found no reply, ASK AGAIN. If we seek and we don’t find it, SEARCH AGAIN. If we knock the door and nobody is opening it, KNOCK AGAIN. Don’t give up because great and amazing things take time. When something in our life does not work well maybe its a relationship, a business, career or spiritual journey, NEVER SURRENDER. TRY ONE MORE TIME! When life puts you in a tough situations, do not say why me but say try me. Never be afraid to fail. Be afraid not to try. Try and fail but never fail to try. Failure does not mean the game is over. It means try again with another experience. Life does not require that we be the best. It only ask us to try our best. Friends, always listen to Jesus and you will be filled with abundance. JESUS CAN CALM YOUR STORMS

Saturday of the Second Week of Easter Year C Jn 6:16-21 Sea in the Bible is known as the dwelling abode of evil spirits. Jesus walking over the sea signifies His dominion and power over the evil spirits. These demonic forces will only frighten us but can’t defeat us because evil were loosers since the beginning of creation. Christ is always victorious over evil. At the heart of every storm is victory waiting to be claimed. We know how all this ends: GOD WINS. We are created to be victorious. With God we will win the victory and God will trample down our enemies. Sometimes we are plunged into waves of despair, storms of fear, big splash of anxiety and struggles in different forms but stand still because Jesus is coming towards our boat. Just go with the waves and when we feel like drowning in life, dont worry because our lifeguard is walking on the water. Today, whatever difficulties you are in, please remember that God is coming to rescue you. Do you wanted to walk in the water too like Jesus? Get out of the boat. Step on the evil spirits that rocks your boat. Walk above the worries that shakens you and crushed whatever frightens you because Jesus said “do not be afraid.” We need to make as our mantra the promise of Jesus: “It is I; do not be afraid.” Friends, even in a stormy situation of our life, the Lord will always come on time to save us. GATHER THE FRAGMENTS

Friday of the Second Week of Easter Year C John 6:1-15 Today’s gospel reading reveals to us the heart of God who cares about our needs. Jesus is our bread in the wilderness. Even in our moment of nothingness God can perform abundance. When we offer to Jesus the little of what we have, He can multiply it. Our Gospel is reminding us that our greatness is not in what we have but in what we give. Share even if you only have a little. We never know where our little and insignificant efforts to help and support others may produce fruits. Our simple act of kindness had always tremendous impact on others. Little things make a big difference is the message our gospel wanted to convey to us. Friends, we do not have to be rich to be generous.. Whatever small and seems insignificant we have, if we learn how to share, miracle is always possible. God can make much of what little we offer. We can feed the needy. My dear brothers and sisters, generosity is the best investment. Find the miracles in all the little things in our life. Pay attention to the little things in our life because little by little, little things becomes a lot. Little things might be your smile, greetings, obeying yield signs, and some gesture of kindness will paved a way to daily miracles. Never think that what we have to offer is insignificant. God can make much of what we offer. Small acts multiplied together can transform the world. The boy in the gospel has no name because its you! Today allow yourselves to be a significant piece of change. We are never without anything to offer. 1. God is gracious. He is our satisfaction. 2. Learn to be generous but practice giving in secret 3. Giving is doing GLORY to God. Blessings Fr. Jhack

WHAT IS ABOVE IS SUPERIOR

Thursday of the Second Week of Easter John 3:31-36. Our gospel for today is a beautiful reminder about the supremacy of the realities above. We are all spiritual being with a human body. My dear friends, we are not meant for below because our origin is from above. I remember what I told last Tuesday: “The love of heaven make us heavenly. The love of the world make us worldly.” Today never allow the things below hold your rising. We cannot go up holding hands with the world. Rise up to heaven by letting go what is temporal. Let us set our minds of the things above because what is above is above! In today’s first reading (Acts 5:27-33) we learn that obedience to God must never be delayed. Brethren, no matter what happened ALWAYS obey the Lord than men. “We must obey God rather than any human authority.” Folks, we are challenge to obey God even if we do not know where our obedience may lead us to. Do not drift away from Jesus for nothing and for no one. Those who believed in the Son of God will be rewarded but those who dont will be punished. Remember, in the days of Noah, obedience saved eight people and disobedience ended the world. We are reminded today that obedience is a mark of a wiseman. “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him.” When we love the Lord, obedience stops to be a burden and obedience becomes a delight. We will never have this day again so make this day best day ever by choosing to obey God than men. We will never go wrong in obeying God. In whatever we do strive to be the best at it. Just be the best you can be. Do not strive to be better than others rather; strive to be better than your best self. Today, make a decision to become a better person of today than you were yesterday. YOU ARE LOVED

Wednesday of the Second week of Easter Year C John 3:16-21 Evil is real and present in our world nowadays. Poor people are suffering. Some people turns to be evil (they love darkness than light). Economy is sinking and places of worship were shrinking. We live in a world where there is a strong potential of evil. Basically, its an experience of darkness right? The apostles in today’s first reading were summoned by the Lord to spread the light but the high priests put them into a place of darkness. They were put into prison. But God sent them an angel and free liberate them from a place of darkness. Friends, God’s love is beyond our comprehension. Yes, there is evil but God came to save us. God came to destroy our destroyer. “For God so love the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.” Friends, we deserve nothing but God gives us everything. God will continue to love us no matter how many mistakes we have made for nothing can change God’s love for us. Today tell yourself, I am loved by God and nothing can take this away from me. Jesus the light of the world assures us that whoever follows him will never walk in darkness again. Friends, to spread the light we are challenge not to partake in the unfruitful works of darkness. Hate darkness my dear friends. This a tough job but this is the effective way to cease the power of darkness. You know what, whatever is done in love will always triumph. God’s love endures forever! WHAT IS ABOVE IS ABOVE

Tuesday of the Second Week of Easter Year C John 3:7-15 “What is born of a flesh is flesh and what is born of spirit is spirit. “ Our Gospel speaks about the conversation of Nicodemus with Jesus. It was called a nocturnal dialogue because Nicodemus approached Jesus at night for fear to be seen by his fellow Pharisee. In that conversation Jesus speaks about heavenly things but Nicodemus thinks on the human level. Today’s gospel is reminding us that to understand heavenly things we must not spend most of our lives talking about earthly things. The love of heaven make us heavenly. The love of the world make us worldly. Sometimes we are like Nicodemus a clever teacher, an expert of the law but we lacked a certain wisdom because we dwell more on earthly realities. We live anonimously in a seemingly dark way of living. Let us ask the Lord to give us the grace to desire more heavenly treasures and virtues. Unless a person is born from above he cannot see the kingdom of God. Our first reading for today provides us wonderful witnessing of being born in the spirit. The first christian community teaches us heavenly practices. “No one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common.” Being born in the spirit means not being materialistic.” Friends, the action of Nicodemus challenges us today to keep our eyes on where we want to go, not on what we feared. Focus on your destination not in your frustrations. Focus on your journey not on the dogs that barks along the way. GO AND TELL

Monday within the Second Week of Easter Year C Mark 16:15-20 Each of us is called to be an evangelizers. We are invited to be missionaries and are called to continue his mission and ministry. “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation” is the mandate of today’s gospel. Go, make a move and spread the goodnews. Folks making Jesus as our topic in our daily conversations with everybody is evangelizing. Introducing Him to the people around us is evangelization. Use whatever platforms to make the name of the Lord viral. Use whatever means to make Jesus be known. Introduce Him to everybody. You know what, putting up a rosary or religious images displayed in your car is evangelization. Acts of kindness is evangelization. Teaching your kids how to pray, how to behave is evangelization. A promise not to repeat same mistakes especially those whom you hated most is evangelization. Folks, let us be endorser of His message of love and salvation. Friends, if we wanted to start a bussiness, make Jesus as our product. When we do this, He promised us salvation as our reward. “The one who believes and is baptized will be saved; but the one who does not believe will be condemned.” Don’t think that evangelization is a hard task. No, its not because of His abiding presence. He Himself assured us of signs of His presence. We can pick up snakes in our hands, and if we drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt or poison us; laying on our hands to the sick, will bring healing. We can have the ability to speak many languages. Simply put, when we become evangelizers we become powerful because of Jesus. No earthly dominions can harm us because of Jesus. We can make impossible things possible because of Jesus. Today, allow youself to be channel of God’s presence to others. Don’t use your energy to worry, use your energy to believe!
